Signing into Windows 10 or 11

At the Lock Screen press CTRL + ALT + DEL

In the bottom left of the screen click Other user. Enter your user name and password then hit enter

 

Please note, the first time logging onto a PC takes a few minutes longer than usual.

NOTE:

If you see the below pop-up box from Greenshot make sure it says English and press OK

 

 

Dual Monitors

If you have two monitors and cannot correctly drag between the two screens, do the below:

Right click on your desktop, select Display settings

There are two boxes labeled one and two. These represent your monitors. You need to flip them by left click and hold on one, then drag it to the opposite side. Refer to the screenshots below for additional help. When you are done click Apply.

 

Installing a Printer

Open File Explorer

In the address bar type \\BBPRINT01 then press enter

 

This will display a list of all printers. Find your printer and double click on it.  You will be asked for Admin credentials, open a helpdesk ticket to do a Quick Assist

 

NOTE:

You may get a box asking you to install drivers. Click install driver.

 

A box with a progress bar will appear.

 

When the progress bar has finished, this means the printer is installed. The below box will then appear. You can close this box- you are finished; your printer has been installed.

 

 

Selecting a default printer

Click the start button in the bottom left corner of your screen for windows 10
Or the middle of the screen for windows 11

Click Settings (the gear icon)

Click Devices

On the left side of the screen click Printers & scanners

UN-check Let Windows manage my default printer

 

Scroll up and click on your printer, then click Manage

 

Under Manage your device click Set as default

 

 

1-sided/ 2-sided printing

Click the start button in the bottom left corner of your screen for windows 10
or the middle of the screen for windows 11

Click Settings (the gear icon)

Click Devices

On the left side of the screen click Printers & scanners

click on your printer, then click Manage

 

Click Printing preferences

Under 1 sided/2sided/Booklet Printing change the drop down box to 2-sided Printing. Click Apply then OK.

 

 

Color / Black and White

Click the start button in the bottom left corner of your screen for windows 10
or the middle of the screen for windows 11

Click Settings (the gear icon)

Click Devices

On the left side of the screen click Printers & scanners

click on your printer, then click Manage

Click Printing preferences

 

This will display the Printing Preferences screen. Towards the bottom you should see a dropdown box for ‘Color Mode’. Click this dropdown and set it to Black and White

 

 

 

Setting Up Outlook and Office365

Double click the Outlook shortcut on your desktop

NOTE:

At some point you will be prompted to “Accept the license agreement”. It varies per computer. When this box appears click Accept.

 

 

A box will appear, with your Office username. Click Connect (windows [email protected] - NOT your email address)

A grey box will appear asking for Microsoft Outlook credentials. Enter the password you use to log into the PC. Check the box “Remember my credentials” then click OK

Once your account is successfully added, uncheck the checkbox under the Done button (setup mobile), then click Done (if an internet window opens just close it). 

Ignore “Add another email address”. 



UNCHECK THE BOX UNDER DONE. You do not need to set up outlook on your mobile phone at this time. A separate ticket will be needed for this. 

 

Repeat this process for Excel, Word, etc…

If you need to add a signature move on to the next section.

NOTE: If you have a lot of email then it could take a few minutes for all of it to load.

 

 

Email Signature

 

Bartlett Bearing now has a standard email signature you should use for all new and reply-to emails. Here is a step-by-step guide to using the signature.

1. Click the link that opens our email signature generator for your branch.

2. Fill in your contact information.
a. Name – please put your first and last name.
b. Title – please fill in your title.
c. Phone – your branch office number is already input, but you may include your extension. If you do not want to include your extension, please delete the “Ext. 5555” from this field.
d. Cell Phone – this is optional, but if you use a cell phone for work and would like to have it in your signature, please fill it in.
e. Email – this will not appear in the final version of your signature but is required to complete the form field.
3. Once you have filled in all the required fields, you should see a sample on the screen of how your signature will look. Double check that all fields are showing accurately, then click “Copy Signature to Clipboard” and follow the instructions for Outlook.

 

 

Company Calendar

In Outlook click Calendars

If the Company Calendar is listed on the left side under Shared Calendars then just click it

If it is not listed, on the Ribbon select Open Calendar > Open Shared Calendar

Type Company, hit Ok

 

Setting up Green Screen

 

Configure the dashboard

On your desktop double click the below icon

A license agreement will appear- scroll to the bottom then click Yes

 

Two Windows Security Alerts will appear- click cancel on each

 

 

If ’10.230.70.10’ does not default in as your “system” select System Configuration

Click New

In System name: type 10.230.70.10

In Description: type AS400

Click the Verify Connection button

When this box appears click OK

Once you have setup your “system”, double click on 5250 Emulator under the “General” box:

 

The below window will pop up, enter your AS400 Username (first 3 of first name, first 3 of last name) and password and press OK. 

From the Greenscreen menu, select Communication and then Configure

 

 

Change pulldown next to screen size to 27x132 then press OK.

Click YES:

Setup a Direct Shortcut to Green Screen

In the dashboard select Tools>File Associations

Tick all the boxes then click OK

When the below messagebox appears click OK

In the dashboard double click 5250 Emulator

 

When prompted to sign on use your AS400 username and password

Once logged into green screen select File Save As

Click Desktop, and enter Green Screen as the File name, hit Save

A new shortcut will appear on your desktop- you can use this shortcut to go directly into Green Screen without launching the dashboard
