How to move Chrome and Edge passwords to a new computer

How to move your Chrome and or Edge Passwords to a new computer. 

 

Open Chrome.

 

 

 

Once you save to the desktop you can move the file to a thumbdrive or to your R Drive folder.

On your new computer, access the saved file.

If on R drive move back to the desktop.

If on a thumbdrive plug the drive into the new computer.

Open Chrome on new computer.

 

 

 

 

 

To move passwords from Edge, open the Edge browser.

Open the settings as below.

  1. Click the 3 dots as seen below
  2.  Click settings.

 

 

 

If Exporting to new computer. Click EXPORT.

IF IMPORTING SCROLL DOWN THIS DOCUMENT TO IMPORTING
EXPORT PASSWORDS
Enter your password (the same one that changes every six months)
Click OK


 

 

Select your PRIVATE DRIVE on the left, you have to scroll down some.
Click SAVE and the exported file will save on your Private Drive

 

TO IMPORT TO NEW COMPUTER.

FOLLOW THE ABOVE STEPS to STEP 4 and SELECT IMPORTING



Choose File.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This should open in Private on the left, if not select there.
Scroll down to the Microsoft Edge Password File.

Highlight and click OPEN

 

Open Edge and all passwords will be moved.
